CranioSacral Therapy is a light-touch approach that releases tensions deep in the body to relieve pain and dysfunction and improve whole-body health and performance.  It helps relieve a full spectrum of pain, illness and dysfunction including: headaches/migraines, chronic back/neck pain, reduce stress/tension, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, TMJ syndrome, scoliosis, motor-coordination impairments, PTSD, post-traumatic stress disorder.

 

Deep tissue massage therapy focuses on releasing deep layers of muscles and connective tissue. It is especially helpful for chronic tension and somatic contractions which cause stiff necks, lower back pain, and sore shoulders. It is effective for the treatment of chronic pain, limited mobility, recovery from injuries such as whiplash, falls, sports injuries, repetitive strain injuries like carpel tunnel syndrome, sciatica, poor posture, osteoarthritis pain, fibromyalgia, muscle tension or muscle spasm.

Manual Therapy is used to treat soft tissues and joint structures for the purpose of modulating pain; increasing range of motion (ROM); reducing or eliminating soft tissue inflammation; inducing relaxation; improving contractile and non-contractile tissue repair, extensibility, and/or stability; facilitating movement; and improving function. "Application of an accurately determined and specifically directed manual force to the body, in order to improve mobility in areas that are restricted; in joints, in connective tissues or in skeletal muscles." Korr, 1978

The myofascial release approach is a form of soft tissue therapy used to treat somatic dysfunction and resulting pain and restriction of motion.  Practitioners gently and firmly use knuckles, elbows, or other tools to slowly stretch the restricted fascia. Direct myofascial release seeks for changes in the myofascial structures by stretching, elongation of fascia, or mobilizing adhesive tissues. The practitioner moves slowly through the layers of the fascia releasing adhesion in the deep tissues.

Relaxation/Swedish massage is deeply relaxing and is the most common and best-known type of massage in the West.  Swedish massage combines various hands-on techniques including gliding, kneading, and cross-fiber friction to break up muscle knots, called an adhesion. Massage therapy helps you relax, re-align and rejuvenate. Research has proven that massage therapy increases immune function, decreases stress levels and reduces recovery time in many medical conditions.

Sports massage can help athletes prepare their bodies for optimal performance, recover after a big event, or function well during training. Sports massage emphasizes prevention and healing of injuries to the muscles and tendons.

You don’t have to be a professional athlete to benefit from a sports massage session. Sports massage is good for anyone with injuries, chronic pain or restricted range of motion.
